Julienne Ikegami

Julienne Ikegami received her Bachelor of Music in violin performance and Master of Music in string pedagogy at Temple University Boyer College of Music and Dance. At Boyer, she studied with Meichen Barnes and Barbara Sonies. In addition, she participated in several ensembles, including Temple University Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Luis Biava, Sinfonia, Opera, Contemporary Ensemble, and Chamber Music. Notable chamber coaches include Helen Kwalwasser, Jeffrey Solow, and Lambert Orkis, among others. Prior to her studies at Temple, she studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Music with Simon Maurer, Brandon Christensen, and Antonio Rincon. Additional training includes Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts in 2005 and Domaine Forget Music and Dance Academy in 2010.
After graduating from Boyer, Julienne received training in the Suzuki method. Her primary mentors include James Hutchins, Martha Shackford, and Nancy Jackson. Much of her teaching experience was as faculty member at various music institutions such as Darlington Arts Center, Community Music School, and Temple Music Prep. As a fully independent teacher she continues to bring the same quality lessons to local students of all levels. Besides her teaching career, she remains an active performer. During her free time, she enjoys traveling, going to sporting events, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
